INLD Pledges 50% Youth Quota in Haryana Polls, Vows Political Upheaval
INLD Promises 50% Youth Quota for Haryana Elections

INLD Unveils Bold Youth-Centric Strategy for Haryana's Political Future

In a dramatic move signaling a major political shift, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has declared its intention to reserve half of its election tickets for young candidates in the upcoming Haryana assembly polls. This announcement was made during a massive state-level youth conference held at the Narwana grain market, where INLD national president Abhay Singh Chautala framed the 2029 elections as a critical battle for the state's destiny.

'Youth First' Policy: A Comprehensive Economic and Political Package

Addressing what he termed as 11 years of decline under BJP rule, Chautala introduced an aggressive economic package targeting the state's unemployed youth. The policy includes a political quota guaranteeing that 50% of the party's candidates in the next assembly elections will be young individuals. Additionally, it promises one government job for each family, a monthly allowance of ₹21,000 for unemployed youth, and interest-free loans of up to ₹1 crore to foster entrepreneurship and self-reliance.

"Haryana's youth are among the most hardworking in the country, but they have been pushed into decline," Chautala stated. "They are now so desperate for employment they are risking their lives to migrate abroad illegally."

Shifting Political Loyalties and Scathing Critiques

The rally also highlighted significant political realignments, with several high-profile figures formally joining the INLD. Notable among them were Dharmendra Dhull, a two-time Congress candidate for the Julana assembly seat, and Rati Ram, a former BJP scheduled caste cell district president and district councillor. Many current and former sarpanches and public representatives also switched allegiance to the party.

In a fiery speech, Chautala used vivid folk metaphors to criticize his rivals, labeling the Congress party as "Sampnath" (the snake lord) and the BJP as "Nagnath" (the cobra lord). He dismissed a third unnamed party as "Bichchunath" (the scorpion lord), accusing them all of betraying public trust.

Allegations of Collusion and Future Plans

Chautala further alleged a hidden collusion between the BJP and Congress during the recent Rajya Sabha elections, claiming it exposed how both parties had undermined the people's mandate. He asserted that this has created a political vacuum which the INLD aims to fill through a new wave of youth and women-led activism.

The party confirmed plans to follow up the youth summit with a state-level conference for women, aiming to broaden its base and strengthen its grassroots support ahead of the elections.
