Originally, this land was leased to Ameera Bano, the wife of Syed Bakar Mehdi, with a validity extending up to March 31, 2038, as documented in lease register-II. However, preliminary investigations reveal that the leasehold was transferred to Shambhu Kumar through an agreement for sale. This transfer allegedly occurred without the prior approval of the competent authority and without any formal application for lease transfer, raising red flags over procedural breaches.
Administration's Notice and Alleged Middleman Involvement
In a related development, the office of the deputy collector issued a notice two days ago to Shiv Prasad Mehta, a BJP worker. Mehta is accused of acting as a middleman in the sale of the plot to Shambhu Kumar, allegedly in violation of government rules. Authorities suspect that the transaction was facilitated based on an affidavit purportedly furnished by Ameera Bano, further questioning the adherence to prescribed norms in the transfer of government lease land.
