Haryana Chief Minister Accuses Opposition of Neglect, Touts Development in Jind
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched a sharp critique against opposition parties during a thanksgiving and Vikash Rally in Jind on Sunday, alleging they have exploited voters with empty promises while hindering regional progress. He asserted that their sole agenda is to secure votes without delivering tangible development, leaving areas like Jind backward for generations.
Rally Highlights and Political Charges
Addressing a large gathering, Saini was warmly welcomed by Haryana Deputy Speaker Krishan Kumar Middha, the rally convener. He praised Jind as the heartbeat of Haryana, a land where farmer diligence fuels national food security, and extended greetings to elders, women, and youth present. Directly targeting opposition groups, the CM claimed Jind suffered prolonged neglect, with false pledges used merely to harvest votes over time.
"Being elected for a third consecutive term is a significant responsibility," Saini stated, emphasizing the government's commitment to fulfilling promises. He noted that out of 217 pledges in the election manifesto, 60 have been achieved within one and a half years, with work ongoing on the remaining 157.
Development Expenditure and Job Creation
The chief minister detailed substantial financial investments in Jind, contrasting current efforts with past administrations. Over the last 11.5 years, Rs 2,217.61 crore has been allocated to development works in the constituency, compared to Rs 380.97 crore during the previous Congress government's decade-long tenure. He highlighted the government's adherence to the mantra of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas" (Together with All, Development for All, Trust of All, Effort of All).
In terms of employment, Saini reported that 36,000 youth received government jobs in the past year without recommendations or bribes, totaling 1.8 lakh jobs over 11.5 years, including approximately 15,000 from Jind. Recruitment for an additional 13,500 positions is currently underway.
Welfare Schemes and Infrastructure Projects
Saini outlined several welfare initiatives aimed at supporting citizens. Under the "Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana," Rs 2,100 in financial assistance is provided to women, with Rs 834 crore disbursed to 9.56 lakh beneficiaries so far. Poor women also receive LPG cylinders at Rs 500 per month. The government is working towards housing for all under the Antyodaya vision.
For farmers, the CM emphasized that all crops are procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP), with Rs 1.64 lakh crore transferred to 12 lakh farmers' accounts. Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Rs 16,160 crore has been provided as compensation and insurance over 11.5 years, versus Rs 1,138 crore during Congress rule.
Key Infrastructure Developments in Jind
The rally also showcased major completed projects in Jind, including:
- New bus stand near Pandu Pindara built at Rs 32.21 crore
- Water supply and sewerage in approved colonies costing Rs 32.86 crore
- 200-bed extension building of Civil Hospital constructed at Rs 16 crore

- Gymkhana Club in Sector-9 built at Rs 5.85 crore
Additionally, Saini announced that Jind will host one of Haryana's 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs), further boosting economic growth.
Vision for Viksit Bharat and Government Principles
Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Viksit Bharat 2047" vision, Saini described it as a mass movement requiring citizen participation. He reiterated the government's "Nation First" principle, highlighting support during crises, such as providing relief by reducing excise duty on petroleum products amid global oil price hikes and implementing strict anti-black marketing measures.
This comprehensive address underscored the government's focus on development, welfare, and accountability, positioning it against opposition critiques while rallying public support for ongoing initiatives.
