A student sustained severe injuries after a car lost control and plunged into a roadside drain in Guwahati's Narengi area on Friday. The incident occurred in the early morning hours, with traffic police from the Pragjyotishpur police station responding to the scene.
Details of the Accident
The car, bearing a registration from Kamrup (Metro) district, veered off the road before falling into a nearby drain. The impact left the vehicle partially submerged in water. According to an officer from the police station, the incident happened near Bonda, on the outskirts of the city.
The student was alone in the car at the time of the accident, returning from her college in Bonda when the crash occurred. She was traveling on the Narengi–Chandrapur Road when she took a sharp turn, causing the vehicle to lose control and fall into the drain.
Immediate Response and Rescue
Locals and passengers rushed to the spot immediately after the accident. Witnesses at the scene reported that the girl survived the crash. She was rescued shortly after the incident and provided with immediate assistance by those present.
