In a significant initiative aimed at fostering unity and grassroots connection, Gujarat Cabinet Minister Kunvarji Bavaliya embarked on an eight-day long foot march, the Jan Kalyan Shivvandana Padyatra, starting Saturday, December 19, 2025. The padyatra commenced from the Ghela Somnath temple near Jasdan in Rajkot district, carrying a powerful message of social and communal harmony, citizen welfare, and national development.

The 229-kilometer pilgrimage on foot is scheduled to traverse through three key Lok Sabha constituencies: Rajkot, Porbandar, and Junagadh. The route is designed to maximize interaction with rural and semi-urban communities across the region.

The itinerary includes Khatla Baithak (informal sittings), group meetings, and cultural programs, creating multiple forums for open dialogue. "The foot march will give us a chance to meet beneficiaries of government schemes and help understand how it can be given to those who have been deprived of it so far," the Minister stated. Adding a participatory dimension to the event, an official from the Minister's office confirmed that around 100 beneficiaries of various state government initiatives have formally registered to walk portions of the journey alongside Kunvarji Bavaliya.
