Victim Identified as Naveen Kumar Bhagat

The victim has been identified as Naveen Kumar Bhagat, a 45-year-old resident of Rampur Ghorghat village under the Mufassil police station area. After joining government service, Bhagat resided in Maranga’s Krishnapuri Hata. He was a respected teacher at the primary school in Ghuski Tola, known for his commitment to education.

Details of the Fatal Incident

According to his son, Abhishek Kumar, Bhagat was on his way to school when the tragic event unfolded. A speeding truck, coming from the opposite direction, lost control and crushed him. The driver of the truck reportedly fled the scene immediately after the accident, abandoning the vehicle at the spot.

Local residents quickly informed the police and Bhagat's family about the incident. He was rushed to a private hospital in the city, but due to his critical condition, doctors referred him to a higher medical centre for advanced treatment. Tragically, Bhagat succumbed to his injuries while en route to the facility.

Police Investigation and Response

Sub-Inspector Rajiv Kumar provided details about the police response, stating, "The truck involved in the accident has been seized by authorities, and the body has been sent to Purnia GMCH for a post-mortem examination. A thorough investigation is currently underway to determine the exact circumstances of this tragic incident."
