Goa Government to Form Khazan Board Within Two Months

The announcement followed a discussion on a private member's resolution. AAP MLA Cruz Silva had moved this resolution, calling for revisions to the Goa Agricultural Tenancy Act. Silva emphasized the need for clear rules to fix responsibility for protecting khazans.

MLA Viresh Borkar welcomed the government's decision. He expressed confidence that having farmers represented on the board would help preserve these vital agricultural zones. Borkar believes this step will effectively address the problems faced by khazan lands.
Cruz Silva highlighted the importance of transparency in the process. He stressed that amendments to the existing laws are necessary. "This is essential to prevent the filling and flooding of khazan land," Silva said. "We must ensure that action is taken against those who violate the rules."
