A devastating incident unfolded in Prayagraj on Friday when four teenage boys lost their lives after being swept away by a powerful current in the Ganga River. The group of seven boys, ranging in age from 9 to 17 years, ventured to the Ganga ghat near Bampur village in the trans-Yamuna area around 11 am for a swimming session. The boys identified as Mohit (13), Divyanshu (16), Aman (9), Kunal (12), Nihal (10), Deepak (17), and Rishabh (10) encountered unexpected danger when the river's strong current overwhelmed them, causing all seven to begin drowning simultaneously.
Rescue Efforts and Fatal Outcome
Quick-thinking swimmers and boatmen who were present at the location immediately sprang into action, managing to pull three boys—Mohit, Divyanshu, and Aman—to safety.
