In a significant development, CPM state secretary M V Govindan declared on Monday that his party has no hesitation in making the details of the martyr fund collected to assist C V Dhanaraj's family publicly available. In response, the CPM Kannur district committee has scheduled a press conference for February 6 to disclose the fund details, acting on instructions from the party's state leadership. Earlier, CPM Kannur district secretary K K Ragesh had argued that there was no need to make the details public since the fund was raised from party members, but the state leadership has now overruled this stance.

Meanwhile, Govindan continued his scathing remarks against Kunhikrishnan, labeling him as a "traitor." At a public meeting held as part of the LDF's development rally in Payyannur, Govindan accused Kunhikrishnan of betraying the party by aligning with right-wing outfits. "The fate of this traitor will be the dustbin of history," Govindan asserted, highlighting the party's resolve to counter what he described as baseless allegations.
