Telangana Congress Launches Statewide Agitation Against G RAM G Act
Congress Intensifies Protest Against G RAM G Act in Telangana

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has declared a significant escalation in its statewide protest against the central government's G RAM G Act. The party plans to launch a coordinated campaign to take its opposition to every village across the state.

Village-Level Protests Planned Post-Sankranti

Addressing an extended meeting of the TPCC, its president and MLC, B Mahesh Kumar Goud, stated that the protests would be intensified following directives from the All India Congress Committee (AICC). He issued clear instructions for party units to organize grassroots-level meetings in all habitations. This campaign is scheduled to run from January 20 to 30, immediately after the Sankranti festival.

Goud emphasized that the sole focus of these village gatherings would be to mobilize public opinion against the G RAM G Act. He framed the upcoming agitation as a crucial movement to protect the interests of the poor.

Mass Pamphlet Distribution Drive Ordered

In a bid to educate the public, the TPCC chief directed a massive information dissemination exercise. He instructed that 5,000 pamphlets be distributed in each assembly constituency. These pamphlets are designed to explain the importance of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).

Goud stressed that every single pamphlet must reach every village and locality, ensuring the message against the new central Act is widely understood. He criticized the Centre's approach, alleging that the G RAM G Act undermines the rights of the poor and effectively reduces them to the status of ‘beggars.'

District Chiefs Given Direct Responsibility

Emphasizing organizational accountability, Mahesh Goud stated that the post of District Congress Committee (DCC) president is one of significant responsibility. He issued a direct instruction for all DCC chiefs to personally lead the village-level meetings as a core part of this protest program.

This move signals the Congress party's intent to leverage its entire organizational structure in Telangana to build a formidable grassroots movement against the contentious legislation in the coming weeks.
