Congress Deputy CM Calls for Unity in Telangana Municipal Polls

In a strategic move ahead of the crucial municipal elections, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has issued a clarion call to Congress ministers, legislators, and senior leaders to unite and focus on fielding candidates with strong winning potential. The appeal was made during a high-level meeting in Hyderabad on Wednesday, where Vikramarka emphasized the need for collective deliberation and coordination to secure victory in the upcoming urban local body polls scheduled for February 11.

Prioritizing Winning Candidates and Party Ideology

Bhatti Vikramarka specifically urged party members to give priority to candidates who not only possess the ability to win elections but also have a deep understanding of Congress ideology. He stressed that such candidates would be more effective in communicating and implementing the government's welfare programmes at the grassroots level. "We must ensure that our representatives can effectively take the government's welfare initiatives to the people," Vikramarka stated, highlighting the importance of connecting governance with public service.

Serious Approach to Municipal Elections

The Deputy Chief Minister made it clear that ministers, MLAs, and other party functionaries must take the municipal elections with utmost seriousness. He called for close coordination among all levels of the party machinery to develop a clear strategy aimed at maximizing Congress's seat share in municipalities and municipal corporations across Telangana. "There should be a clear strategy and coordination to ensure our victory," Vikramarka emphasized during his interactions with party leaders.

Promoting Urban Development Agenda

Vikramarka directed Congress cadres to actively engage with voters and communicate the government's special focus on urban development, particularly in the critical sectors of health and education. He explained that the Revanth Reddy-led administration has placed urban infrastructure development as a top priority during its first two years in governance. "The Congress government has given top priority to the development of urban infrastructure," he affirmed, underscoring the administration's commitment to transforming urban landscapes.

Explaining Economic Vision and Development Plans

During the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister elaborated on the government's comprehensive economic framework, including the CORE, PURE, and RARE economy plans. He asked MLAs and party leaders to take the highlights of the Telangana Vision Document-2047 directly to people's doorsteps, ensuring citizens understand the long-term development roadmap for the state. "We will continue to drive Telangana's development and welfare agenda through these strategic plans," Vikramarka asserted, expressing confidence in the party's ability to win maximum seats in the municipal elections.

Field Visit and Direct Engagement

The Deputy Chief Minister's remarks came after his tour of Madhira assembly constituency in the combined Khammam district, where he interacted with local leaders and assessed ground-level preparations for the upcoming polls. His direct engagement with party workers and reporters demonstrated the administration's hands-on approach to election preparedness and governance outreach.

Vikramarka's comprehensive address covered multiple aspects of election strategy, from candidate selection and ideological alignment to effective communication of government achievements and future plans. The emphasis on urban development as a key electoral plank reflects the Congress government's recognition of growing urban constituencies and their importance in shaping Telangana's political landscape.
