However, when the final candidate list was released, Vazhakkan's name was conspicuously absent. By that time, the damage was already done: nearly one lakh posters, over one lakh leaflets, and 1,500 flex boards had been produced, with flags and banners also prepared. In an interview, Vazhakkan revealed that this premature effort has led to a financial loss exceeding Rs 15 lakh.
