In a significant development for Rajasthan, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has issued clear directives to state officials to ensure timely and impeccable arrangements for the upcoming Army Day parade in Jaipur. This year's event marks a historic first, as the prestigious parade will be held outside a traditional cantonment area, with the Pink City chosen as the host.

A Matter of State Pride and Respect

Chairing a detailed review meeting at his office on Monday, Chief Minister Sharma emphasized that the event is a profound matter of pride for the entire state of Rajasthan. He instructed that every single arrangement must visibly reflect the deep respect citizens hold for the Indian Army and their unwavering confidence in its valour and sacrifices. The CM stressed that the execution should honour the institution and its personnel.

Comprehensive Planning for a Smooth Event

The Chief Minister provided specific instructions to various departments, covering all logistical aspects crucial for the event's success. Key focus areas include:

  • Seating Arrangements: Orderly and comfortable seating for dignitaries and the general public.
  • Transport and Traffic: Clear and efficient plans for managing the expected influx of people and vehicles.
  • Parking Facilities: Adequate and well-organized parking spaces to avoid congestion.
  • Security Protocols: Robust security measures along the designated parade route at Mahal Road in Jagatpura.

Sharma directed officials to maintain close and continuous coordination with Army authorities to ensure every segment of the programme is executed smoothly and without any delays.

Event Schedule and Expected Footfall

During the meeting, Army officials briefed the Chief Minister on the event's schedule. The main Army Day parade will be held on January 15. Prior to the main event, the public will have the opportunity to witness rehearsals scheduled for January 9, 11, and 13.

The scale of the event is monumental, with officials estimating an attendance of nearly 1.5 lakh people each day. The attendees will include a diverse cross-section of society, such as students, women, armed forces veterans, and residents from across Rajasthan, all coming together to celebrate the nation's defenders.

This historic hosting underscores Jaipur's growing stature as a venue for national events and promises to be a grand public tribute to the Indian Army's service and sacrifice.
