Bokaro Pays Homage to Dishom Guru Shibu Soren on 82nd Birth Anniversary
Bokaro Observes Shibu Soren's Birth Anniversary with Service

The 82nd birth anniversary of revered tribal leader and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) founder, Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, was observed across Bokaro Steel City with a blend of solemn remembrance, simplicity, and community service. Multiple events organized by political leaders, party workers, and affiliated unions highlighted Soren's enduring legacy as a champion of social justice and the architect of the separate Jharkhand state.

Official Tributes at Sector 1C Residence

A modest yet dignified ceremony was held at the late leader's residence in Sector 1C. The event saw the presence of key dignitaries who paid their respects to the veteran politician. State Minister for Excise and Prohibition, Yogendra Prasad, led the tributes by offering flowers to a portrait of Shibu Soren.

He was joined by Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha and Superintendent of Police Harvinder Singh, who also laid floral tributes. The gathering reflected on Soren's immense contributions to the cause of tribal rights, social justice, and public welfare in the region. Participants took a pledge to follow his ideals, and the program concluded on a respectful note. In a gesture aligning with Soren's service-oriented philosophy, blankets were distributed to the needy on this occasion.

Trade Union Celebrates at Two Tank Garden

Parallel celebrations were organized by the JMM-affiliated trade union, Jai Jharkhand Majdur Samaj, in collaboration with the Sakha Sahyog Suraksha Samiti. The event took place at the Two Tank Garden near Ispat Bhavan.

Here, a cake-cutting ceremony marked the day, and floral tributes were offered to an oil portrait of the leader, accompanied by prayers in his memory. Staying true to the day's theme of service, the organizers distributed blankets to 180 underprivileged individuals to help them combat the winter chill.

Addressing the gathering, the founder general secretary of the union, B K Chaudhary, eloquently described Shibu Soren as "the voice of the oppressed" and the chief architect of the Jharkhand movement. He emphasized that Soren's legacy is being carried forward under the leadership of his son and current Chief Minister, Hemant Soren.

JMM District Unit Honors a Living Ideology

The district unit of the JMM also marked the anniversary with a separate event at a farmhouse in Chira Chas. Party leader Mantu Yadav delivered a poignant address, stating that Shibu Soren was not merely a person but a "living ideology" deeply ingrained in the soil and spirit of Jharkhand.

Yadav credited the achievement of a separate state to the long and arduous struggle led by "Guruji." He affirmed that the party remains committed to realizing Soren's vision of a prosperous and equitable Jharkhand. The celebrations here, too, were centered on community service, featuring community feasts (bhandara) and the distribution of blankets to the poor.

The series of events across Bokaro demonstrated the deep-rooted respect and affection for Shibu Soren. The consistent focus on charitable acts like blanket distribution underscored the celebration of his life through the very principles of public welfare and empowerment he championed throughout his political career.
