This year, the BJP managed to flip the seat with a significantly larger margin. The victory is seen as part of a broader trend in West Bengal, where the BJP has been making inroads. Meanwhile, in Tamil Nadu, the TVK party has emerged as a formidable force, pushing the DMK and AIADMK to the margins. In Bhabanipur, Mamata Banerjee is trailing behind Suvendu Adhikari after the second round of counting.
The Bally result underscores the BJP's strategy to expand its footprint in West Bengal, particularly in urban constituencies. The party had retained Assam and is now aiming to oust Mamata Banerjee's government in Bengal.
