BJP's N Ramchander Rao Slams Congress for 'Baseless' Accusations Against Central Government

In a sharp rebuke, BJP Telangana chief N Ramchander Rao on Monday alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the Congress party have developed a habit of leveling baseless accusations and spreading falsehoods against the central government and BJP leaders. Addressing a press conference in Nizamabad, Rao launched a scathing attack on the opposition, accusing them of engaging in divisive politics and failing to deliver on their promises.

Allegations of Divisive Politics and False Narratives

Rao claimed that the Congress is actively accusing the Centre of discriminating against southern states, a move he described as an attempt to incite people through divisive tactics. He emphasized that such actions are particularly harmful as they create misconceptions among the populace in the south. Furthermore, Rao alleged that parties within the INDIA bloc, alongside Congress, are perpetuating this divisive politics across the entire nation.

"From Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Assam to Ahmedabad, there is a profound sense of unity among the people of India," Rao stated, highlighting that citizens nationwide wish to move forward with this collective spirit. He criticized Congress for undermining this unity with what he termed as false accusations and misleading statements.

Questioning Congress's Contributions and Central Allocations

Responding to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's repeated inquiries about what the central government has given to Telangana, Rao turned the tables by demanding that Congress first clearly articulate what it has provided to the people of Telangana. He asserted that before making such accusations, the party should account for its own actions and deliverables.

Rao provided a detailed rebuttal, claiming that over the past 11 years, the central government has allocated more than 12 lakh crore rupees to Telangana. "Can Revanth Reddy not see this substantial financial support?" he questioned, pointing out that the development of municipalities and municipal corporations in the state is entirely funded by these central allocations.

Criticism of Congress's Governance and Unfulfilled Promises

The BJP leader further alleged that instead of properly utilizing central projects and funds, the Congress government has been diverting resources to the Kodangal constituency. He challenged the administration to answer what it has genuinely accomplished for the broader state beyond such diversions.

Rao also raised pointed questions about Congress's election promises, specifically referencing the six guarantees announced by the party. "Has any of these guarantees been implemented?" he asked, urging Congress to disclose what it has done for key segments of society, including farmers, students, women, and all other sections.

In a grave accusation, Rao claimed that during Congress rule, approximately 40 retired employees committed suicide due to harassment and non-receipt of retirement benefits. This statement underscored his broader critique of the party's governance and its impact on vulnerable groups.

Overall, Rao's press conference served as a forceful condemnation of Congress's tactics and a defense of the central government's contributions to Telangana, framing the political discourse around accountability, unity, and development.
