Political Clash Erupts Over State Budget: BJP Hails Historic Welfare Document, Congress Terms It 'Budget of Betrayal'

In vehement opposition, former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Kamal Nath dismissed the budget as mere lip service, accusing it of completely omitting any genuine public interest concerns. State Congress President Jitu Patwari escalated the criticism by branding it a 'thug budget,' alleging fiscal deception.
Patwari pointed to the massive budget size of Rs 4.38 lakh crore, behind which he claims a fiscal deficit of Rs 78,000 crore is hidden. He challenged the government to clearly explain where this substantial sum would be raised, warning of severe financial repercussions. 'This financial mismanagement is clear evidence of misleading the public and pushing the state into a dangerous debt trap,' Patwari stated.
In a pointed remark, Patwari urged Chief Minister Yadav to shift focus from peripheral issues like sterilising dogs to addressing what he termed the 'corruption within his government,' suggesting a need for greater fiscal sterilization of mismanagement.
