BJP President Calls for AIADMK-Led NDA Government in Tamil Nadu to Ensure Central Welfare Schemes

State BJP president Nainar Nagenthran made a strong appeal on Friday, urging voters in Tamil Nadu to support the AIADMK-led NDA alliance to form the next state government. He emphasized that this move is crucial for facilitating the effective implementation of Union government welfare schemes across the state.

Campaign Rally in Namakkal Highlights NDA's Vision

While campaigning for NDA candidate Dr. S. D. Premkumar at Vennandur near Rasipuram in Namakkal district, Nagenthran passionately called on voters to back the NDA and vote for the lotus symbol. He stated, "Edappadi K. Palaniswami should be made chief minister. Only then will central schemes reach Tamil Nadu effectively." This statement underscores the BJP's strategic push to align with regional partners for better governance outcomes.

Criticism of DMK's Governance Record

Nagenthran launched a sharp critique of the DMK government's performance over the past five years, citing a deterioration in law and order. He claimed that under DMK rule, drug and ganja sales have increased significantly, and crimes, including sexual offences, have risen alarmingly. Specifically, he alleged that the state reported approximately 8,900 murders and 3,900 sexual assaults against women during this period, painting a grim picture of public safety.

Allegations of Neglect in Rasipuram Constituency

Further attacking the DMK, Nagenthran slammed the party for failing to provide basic facilities in Rasipuram, despite having a minister from the constituency. He accused the government of focusing primarily on self-interests rather than public welfare, highlighting a perceived disconnect between political representation and grassroots development.

Praise for Previous AIADMK Achievements

In contrast, Nagenthran praised the previous AIADMK government for its contributions to healthcare infrastructure, notably bringing 11 medical colleges to the state. He pointed out that the DMK has not established any new medical colleges in the past five years, framing this as a failure in advancing critical public services.

Unified NDA Campaign Efforts

The campaign event saw active participation from BJP leaders, including deputy president V. P. Duraisamy, along with cadres from BJP, AIADMK, PMK, AMMK, and other NDA parties. This collective effort signals a coordinated push to consolidate support and challenge the incumbent DMK administration in the upcoming elections.
