BJP Candidate Sustains Injuries in Campaign Trail Mishap

A prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate contesting the upcoming Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) elections is currently receiving medical treatment following an accident involving his two-wheeler. Ashok Tiwari, the party's nominee from Ward 1C in Bhayandar West, met with the unfortunate incident on Tuesday evening.

The Incident: A Rush to the Ground Leads to a Fall

According to Tiwari, who spoke to reporters from his hospital bed, the accident occurred while he was responding to a call from a party worker. He was informed that MBMC staff were conducting a drive in the Jai Ambe Nagar area. "I rushed to the spot to check on them," Tiwari explained, "but near the station, my two-wheeler lost balance and I fell."

The former corporator, who has held key portfolios in the municipal body, initially felt no immediate pain. However, after about an hour, swelling developed, prompting him to seek medical attention at a hospital.

Medical Diagnosis and Campaign from the Hospital

Doctors attending to Tiwari confirmed that the fall resulted in blood clotting and a minor crack in his lower back. Medical professionals have stated that no surgery is required at present and have advised him complete bed rest for recovery.

Undeterred by the setback, the determined candidate has decided to continue his electoral efforts remotely. "Doctors have advised bed rest, so I will be coordinating from the hospital itself," Tiwari stated. Expressing unwavering confidence in his prospects, he added, "I am confident I will win the seat comfortably — my work speaks for itself."

Political Implications and Road to Recovery

This incident highlights the intense, on-ground nature of local election campaigning in India. Ashok Tiwari's accident just ahead of the MBMC polls adds an unexpected twist to the electoral battle in Bhayandar West. His commitment to campaigning from the hospital underscores the high stakes involved. The BJP will be hoping for his swift recovery as the party vies for the seat. Voters and political observers will now be watching how this event influences the campaign dynamics in Ward 1C.
