Bihar Sets Ambitious Goal to Eliminate Labor Migration Within Five Years

In a significant announcement, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary declared that the state is poised to become free from labor migration in the next five years. This bold vision was shared during a public meeting as part of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Samridhi Yatra in Vaishali on Saturday. Choudhary emphasized that noted industrialists from across the country are set to invest in Bihar, marking a transformative phase for the state's economy.

Government Initiatives and Land Acquisition for Industrial Growth

The government has already taken concrete steps to facilitate this industrial boom by acquiring 1,285 acres of land for setting up industries. Choudhary outlined that the NDA government will identify every individual in Bihar who migrates outside in search of work and provide them with respectable employment opportunities within the state. This proactive approach aims to retain talent and boost local development.

Transition from Justice to Prosperity Under Nitish Kumar's Leadership

Sharing the roadmap for Bihar's future, the deputy CM highlighted that the state has moved from an era of justice to one of prosperity under CM Nitish Kumar's leadership. He pointed out that Bihar is increasingly becoming a preferred destination for industry and investment, with areas like Hajipur and Muzaffarpur emerging as top choices for investors. This shift is expected to drive economic growth and reduce dependency on external job markets.

Employment Figures and Criticism of Previous Governments

Choudhary provided stark employment data to underscore the progress made. He criticized the previous Congress and RJD governments, noting that between 1990 and 2005, only about 1,00,000 people secured jobs in Bihar. In contrast, since Nitish Kumar became CM in 2005, employment has been provided to 7,00,000 people up to 2020. Additionally, another 5,00,000 jobs were created between 2020 and 2025, showcasing a significant uptick in job creation under NDA rule.

Future Employment Targets and Government Plans

Looking ahead, the NDA government aims to connect 10 million people with government jobs and self-employment opportunities over the next five years. Choudhary instructed officials to clear any obstacles hindering Bihar's progress, ensuring a smooth path toward prosperity. This ambitious target reflects the government's commitment to sustainable development and economic self-reliance.

Political Context and Gratitude to Vaishali Voters

During his address, Choudhary expressed gratitude to the people of Vaishali district, where the NDA won seven out of eight assembly seats in the November election. He took a dig at the RJD and its leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, attributing the one seat that went to the opposition (Raghopur) to misinformation. This political backdrop underscores the government's confidence in its policies and public support.

Overall, Bihar's strategy to combat labor migration through industrial investment and job creation signals a new chapter in the state's development, with a focus on internal growth and prosperity.
