Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar Slams Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Over Six Guarantees Claim
In a fiery confrontation, Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, accusing him of spreading falsehoods during his recent election campaign in Kerala. Kumar asserted that Reddy's claims about the implementation of six Congress guarantees in Telangana are entirely baseless and demanded proof.
Oscar-Worthy Lies and a Bold Challenge
Speaking to the media after inspecting a proposed dumping yard site in Huzurabad, Bandi Sanjay Kumar did not mince words. He declared that Revanth Reddy deserves an Oscar for his alleged dishonesty and issued a direct challenge to the chief minister. "Chief minister, let's visit any village in Telangana. If you prove that women are getting 2,500 monthly, a tola of gold, a scooter, 4,000 Aasara pensions for the elderly, 4,000 unemployment allowance, 5 lakh assurance card for students, and Rythu Bharosa money for tenant farmers and farm labourers, I will immediately resign from my minister post," Kumar stated emphatically.
He further added, "I will prove that not a single one of these promises is being implemented. Will you resign from the chief minister's post and apologise to the people of Telangana?" Kumar challenged Reddy to accept this dare if he possesses the courage, urging the people and media in Kerala to uncover the truth and disseminate it widely.
Allegations of Congress's Electoral Downfall
Bandi Sanjay Kumar did not stop at the challenge; he linked Revanth Reddy's actions to Congress's recent electoral setbacks. He alleged that Reddy, as a star campaigner, traveled to states like Bihar, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Haryana, falsely promoting the implementation of the six guarantees in Telangana. "People learnt the facts and rejected Congress. Now in Kerala, he is again lying," Kumar claimed, accusing the chief minister of merely distributing bags during his Kerala visit without substantive action.
According to Kumar, this pattern of misinformation has contributed significantly to Congress's defeats in multiple state elections, painting Reddy as a liability to the party's national prospects.
Local Issue: Opposition to Dumping Yard Proposal
During his visit to Huzurabad, Bandi Sanjay Kumar also addressed a local concern, expressing strong opposition to the establishment of a dumping yard in a residential area. He called on the government to reconsider its proposal, highlighting the potential negative impact on the community's health and environment. This stance underscores his engagement with grassroots issues beyond the political fray.
The minister's comments have ignited a fresh political controversy in Telangana, with implications for both state governance and national electoral dynamics. As the debate over the six guarantees intensifies, all eyes are on whether Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will respond to the challenge or maintain his position.
