The youth wing of the Ajsu-Party is gearing up for a massive grassroots expansion in Jharkhand's capital. In a significant move to bolster its organisational strength, the wing will initiate an extensive door-to-door membership campaign across Ranchi city starting this Monday.
Campaign Launch and Ambitious Target
The programme is set to be formally inaugurated by senior party leaders, including chief spokesperson Devsharan Bhagat, at the Ranchi University gate. Amit Yadav, the town president of the party's youth wing, outlined the ambitious scope of the drive. The campaign will meticulously cover all 53 wards under the Ranchi Municipal Corporation.
Yadav revealed the wing's primary numerical goal: to enrol 1 lakh (100,000) new members within a span of 90 days. This large-scale outreach is strategically timed, with party leaders hoping it will solidify their base and enhance their prospects in the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) elections.
Strategy and Statewide Plans
The initiative is not just about adding numbers to the membership roster. According to Yadav, party workers and leaders will utilise this door-to-door campaign as a platform for direct public contact. They plan to actively listen to and document the grievances of local residents, aiming to connect the party's agenda with the immediate concerns of Ranchi's populace.
While the focus is currently on the state capital, the party has broader plans. Similar membership drives are being formulated and will be rolled out in other parts of Jharkhand in the near future. This indicates a coordinated state-level strategy to strengthen the party's youth base from the ground up.
Implications for Local Politics
This intensive 90-day campaign underscores the growing importance of grassroots mobilisation in urban political landscapes. By focusing on ward-level engagement, the Ajsu-P youth wing is directly targeting the core of municipal governance. The success of this drive could significantly influence the party's organisational muscle and voter outreach capabilities during the crucial ULB polls, setting a precedent for other political outfits in the region.
