AIADMK Functionary Brutally Beheaded in Madurai Village; Police Cite Family Dispute as Motive

In a shocking and gruesome incident, an AIADMK functionary was beheaded by a gang in the early hours of Friday in Samanatham village, located in Madurai district. The police have swiftly secured three individuals, including two minors, in connection with this brutal murder, which has sent shockwaves through the local community.

Details of the Tragic Incident

The deceased has been identified as Dhanasekarapandian, also known as Senthil, a 35-year-old resident who owned a tea shop in the village. According to police reports, around 5:30 AM, Senthil went to open his tea shop situated on the Samanatham-Nedungulam main road. Upon reaching the premises, he was ambushed by a waiting gang who attacked him with extreme brutality, beheading him before fleeing the scene.

Police officials promptly recovered his body and sent it to the Government Rajaji Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Initial rumors suggested that the murder occurred during a drunken brawl at the entrance of his tea shop, but authorities have clarified this misinformation.

Police Investigation Reveals Family Dispute as Cause

Madurai Superintendent of Police B K Arvind stated that investigations have revealed the murder was not related to any alcohol-fueled altercation. Instead, it stemmed from a family dispute. Police sources have indicated that Senthil's wife was allegedly involved in an extramarital affair with another person, which is believed to have triggered the violent attack.

The Silaiman police have registered a case and secured three suspects, including two minors. Special teams have been formed to apprehend three other individuals who are reportedly involved in the murder. Senthil is survived by his wife and two children, adding to the tragedy of the situation.

Political Reactions and Condolences

Expressing profound shock over the murder, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami condemned the incident, attributing such criminal acts to a perceived laxity in maintaining law and order under the current DMK government. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and urged the DMK government to take stringent and immediate action against all culprits involved.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns about public safety and the effectiveness of law enforcement in the region, sparking calls for enhanced security measures to prevent such horrific crimes in the future.
