AIADMK to Release Manifesto After Seat-Sharing Deals

AIADMK Prepares to Launch Election Manifesto Following Crucial Alliance Deals

In a significant development for Tamil Nadu's political landscape, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami is set to unveil the party's comprehensive election manifesto. This announcement comes just one day after the AIADMK successfully sealed critical seat-sharing agreements with its major allies, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), and Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK).

Timing and Strategic Campaign Launch

The manifesto is expected to be released either later today or on Wednesday morning, strategically timed to build substantial momentum for the official campaign kickoff. Palaniswami's campaign is scheduled to commence on Wednesday evening at the Mandavelli market area within the Mylapore constituency, marking a pivotal moment in the election cycle.

Preview of Key Poll Promises

It is important to recall that Palaniswami has already publicly announced fifteen preliminary poll promises, which are likely to be formalized in the manifesto. These commitments include a significant enhancement of the monthly financial assistance provided to citizens, doubling the amount from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000. Additionally, the party plans to offer a one-time compassionate assistance of Rs 10,000 to every family to help offset the impacts of inflation.

Other notable welfare measures comprise the introduction of free bus travel for men, a provision of three free LPG cylinders per year for every ration cardholder, and a complete waiver of education loans. These initiatives are designed to address pressing economic concerns and garner widespread public support.

Manifesto Committee Mobilization and Candidate List

Members of the AIADMK's manifesto committee have been urgently summoned to Chennai to finalize the document. According to a former minister who is part of the committee, the manifesto will be officially released on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning. Furthermore, there is an expectation that Palaniswami will announce the party's candidate list before he begins his campaign on Wednesday evening, providing clarity and direction for the upcoming electoral battle.

Ongoing Alliance Negotiations and Internal Meetings

Simultaneously, the AIADMK is accelerating discussions to secure a final agreement with G.K. Vasan's Tamil Maanila Congress (M) and other minor political partners, with the aim of concluding these talks by the end of Tuesday. In a separate but related development, Palaniswami will convene a crucial meeting with district secretaries and senior party functionaries at 4 pm today at the party headquarters, MGR Maaligai. This gathering is intended to issue detailed instructions and strategies for election-related activities, ensuring a coordinated and effective campaign effort across the state.
