Himachal's 70 Young Leaders Head to Delhi for Viksit Bharat Youth Dialogue
70 Himachal Youth Leaders Flagged Off for National Festival

In a significant send-off ceremony in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Thursday flagged off a dynamic delegation of 70 selected young leaders from the state. This group is set to represent Himachal Pradesh at the prestigious national-level 'Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue/National Youth Festival-2026'.

A Platform for Youth and Ideas

The high-profile event is being organized by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and will be held from January 9 to 12 at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Governor Shukla, while addressing the participants, offered words of profound encouragement. He urged them to present their ideas with confidence and conviction, stressing that the power of an idea leaves a lasting legacy, far beyond the immediate outcome of winning or losing.

Drawing inspiration from the late former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Shukla reminded the youth that "dreams are those seen with open eyes," highlighting the importance of visionary thinking and conscious ambition in shaping the nation's future.

Focus on Health and National Contribution

The Governor placed strong emphasis on the foundation of a healthy lifestyle for meaningful contribution. He explicitly advised the youth to stay away from drugs, noting that only a healthy, focused, and disciplined generation can drive the nation forward. "Only a healthy and focused generation can meaningfully contribute to building a developed India and advancing the nation's progress," Shukla stated.

Expressing full confidence in the delegation, the Governor said he believes the young minds from Himachal will effectively present their thoughts and perspectives, sparking important discussions and gaining recognition at the national forum.

Selection and Objectives of the Dialogue

Prior to the flag-off, District Youth Officer Pradeep Kumar briefed Governor Shukla on the meticulous selection process and the core objectives of the Young Leaders Dialogue. The initiative is designed to actively connect youth aged between 15 and 29 years with the monumental task of nation-building. This connection is fostered through focused leadership in key areas including:

  • Policy and Governance
  • Technology and Innovation
  • Sports and Athletics
  • Sustainable Development

The flag-off marks a proud moment for Himachal Pradesh, as its young ambassadors prepare to engage with peers from across the country, sharing ideas that could shape the roadmap for a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
