₹60 Crore Development Work Launched in Nizamabad

In a significant push for infrastructure and community welfare, the Congress government in Telangana has initiated a major development drive in Nizamabad district. Senior leader and government advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir declared the administration's firm commitment to equitable development, ensuring all regions and communities receive fair attention and resources.

Major Infrastructure Projects Unveiled

During a series of events held on Sunday, Shabbir Ali, alongside Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B Mahesh Kumar Goud, laid the foundation for integrated development works valued at a substantial ₹60 crore. The ambitious plan allocates ₹1 crore to each of the 60 municipal divisions in the area. The funds are earmarked for critical civic improvements including upgrading drainage systems, constructing internal roads, and installing streetlights.

Addressing long-standing power issues, an additional ₹6 crore was sanctioned for building a new 33/11 KV electrical substation. This project aims to resolve persistent voltage fluctuations and unreliable electricity supply troubling the town's residents.

A Promise of Unbiased and Continued Development

Shabbir Ali and Mahesh Kumar Goud strongly asserted that the current Congress government operates without any political bias, a marked change from the past. They highlighted that previous fund allocations were discriminatory, but the present regime is ensuring equal priority for every division.

Goud emphasized that the ₹60 crore infusion is merely the beginning. He pledged to secure more funds in the future to ensure Nizamabad's comprehensive growth. "Our aim is to develop Nizamabad in every possible way," he stated. The events were attended by local dignitaries including BJP MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta and NUDA chairman Keshava Venu.

Focus on Dalit Welfare and Honouring a Freedom Fighter

Labour minister G Vivek Venkatswamy, speaking at the gatherings, connected present-day political rights to the constitutional safeguards envisioned by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He announced plans to work towards allocating special funds for the development of Dalit colonies, specifically targeting basic amenities like proper drainage, cement concrete (CC) roads, and drinking water supply. He also encouraged beneficiaries to utilize educational schemes like the Overseas Education Fund.

In a separate event at Vaddera Colony, Shabbir Ali unveiled a statue of tribal freedom fighter Vadde Obanna on his 219th birth anniversary. Paying rich tributes, Shabbir Ali recounted Obanna's bravery in leading tribal fighters through the Nallamala forests to resist British troops. He appealed for greater recognition of Obanna's role in the freedom struggle, including the inclusion of his story in school textbooks to inspire future generations.
