Jharkhand to Appoint 1,932 Graduates on Tuesday After Court Clears Leak Probe
1,932 JGGLCCE 2023 Candidates Get Appointment Letters in Ranchi

In a significant development for job seekers, the Jharkhand government is set to formally appoint 1,932 candidates who successfully cleared the Jharkhand General Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (JGGLCCE) 2023. The appointment letters will be distributed at a grand ceremony on Tuesday.

Chief Minister to Hand Over Appointment Letters

Chief Minister Hemant Soren will personally distribute the appointment letters to the successful candidates at a government function to be held at the Morabadi Ground in Ranchi. The event marks the culmination of a selection process that was advertised in 2023, with the tests conducted last year.

The selected candidates have been recruited for various key positions across the state administration. The new appointees include:

  • Assistant Section Officers
  • Junior Secretariat Assistants
  • Labour Officers
  • Planning Assistants
  • Block Welfare Officers
  • Block Supply Officers
  • Circle Inspectors and Kanugos (revenue officials)

A Journey Marred by Controversy and Court Scrutiny

The path to these appointments was not smooth. The examination, conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), faced serious allegations of a question paper leak. Taking cognizance of these claims, the Jharkhand High Court had initially stayed the publication of the results.

The state government subsequently initiated a detailed probe into the allegations. The investigation concluded that there was no evidence of a paper leak. Satisfied with the findings of the government's probe, the Jharkhand High Court changed its order earlier this month, paving the way for the declaration of results. The final results were officially declared on December 9.

Traffic and Security Arrangements for the Grand Event

In anticipation of the large gathering, the Ranchi traffic police have implemented special measures. On Monday, they announced a ban on the entry of heavy goods vehicles in the city from 6 am to 10 pm on Tuesday. Private vehicles will be diverted via a specific route from SSP Residence to the Red Cross building in Morabadi via the State Guest House.

These restrictions are in addition to the traffic plan already in place for President Droupadi Murmu's visit, which involves movement between Birsa Munda Airport and Lok Bhavan from 8 am to 4 pm.

To manage the crowd and vehicles, the district administration has designated three parking areas:

  • Football Ground: For vehicles coming from Kanke via Chandini Chowk.
  • Army Ground: For vehicles coming from Booty More via Karamtoli Chowk.
  • Tribal Research Institute (TRI) Ground: For vehicles coming from Bodeya.

The administration will also barricade the entry and exit points of the venue to regulate traffic flow. Adequate police force will be deployed to maintain law and order, and the entire area will be under closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera surveillance.

This mass appointment drive brings relief and new career opportunities to nearly two thousand graduates, finally closing a chapter that was fraught with legal challenges and public scrutiny.
