A junior engineer associated with Jal Nigam (rural) has been suspended in connection with the recent structure collapse in Bareilly. Additionally, the services of an assistant engineer and a junior engineer linked to the State Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission have been terminated.
Departmental Action Initiated
Departmental proceedings have been initiated against another assistant engineer of Jal Nigam (Rural), while a show-cause notice has been issued to the executive engineer concerned. The government has also taken strict action against the third-party inspection agency TPIL BLG, removing all its officers and staff posted in Bareilly and imposing a financial penalty on the firm.
Blacklisting Notices Issued
Notices have been issued to blacklist both NCC Limited and TPIL BLG in connection with the incident. A Technical Audit Committee (TAC) has been constituted to conduct a preliminary probe into the collapse, and it is expected to submit its report within a day.
Officials stated that further action will be taken after reviewing the TAC report, indicating that accountability will be fixed at all levels involved in the project. The government has emphasized a zero-tolerance approach towards negligence in public works.
