BAREILLY: A woman allegedly conspired with her lover, her sister, and her sister's boyfriend to murder her husband after he objected to her extramarital affair, police said. All four accused, aged between 30 and 35 years, have been arrested.
Victim and Family Background
Pawan Thakur, 30, a resident of Kundanpur in the Majhola police station area, was originally from the Mainathar area. He married Aanchal, a native of Sambhal, six years ago. The couple has a two-year-old daughter.
The Affair and Plot
According to police, Aanchal had developed an illicit relationship with Ankit, a relative referred to as Pawan's nephew, around two years ago. When Pawan discovered the affair, he strongly objected and tried to counsel his wife. However, instead of ending the relationship, Aanchal decided to kill her husband.
Aanchal hatched the plot at her maternal home, recruiting her sister Shikha and Shikha's boyfriend Ajay Diwakar as accomplices alongside Ankit. She then called Pawan over the phone, luring him to the house. As soon as Pawan arrived, the four accused overpowered him.
Murder Method and Investigation
Police said the accused first administered electric shocks to Pawan and subsequently forced a toxic substance into him, causing his death. Following the recovery of the body, police sent the corpse for postmortem. The report revealed nine distinct injury marks on Pawan's body and confirmed the presence of poison, blowing open the conspiracy, said a cop privy to the case.
Arrests and Legal Action
Senior Superintendent of Police (Moradabad) Satpal Antil said acting on the postmortem findings, all four accused were arrested. An FIR has been registered against them under BNS section 103 (murder), and they have been sent to judicial custody.
