Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana called upon the younger generation to draw inspiration from the lives of great leaders and personalities, emphasizing that true greatness is achieved by overcoming desires and anger. He was speaking at a gathering in Agondh village, Karnal, during the birth anniversary celebrations and statue-unveiling ceremony of Maharaja Prithviraj Chauhan.

The minister stated that the birth anniversaries of legendary figures are celebrated to inspire the youth and preserve their ideals. He was accompanied by former MP Brij Bhushan, Assandh MLA Yogendra Rana, former MLA Shashi Parmar, Karnal Sena president Suraj Pal Ammu, former minister Sanjay Singh, and others.

Rana urged that the birth anniversaries of legendary warriors such as Maharana Pratap and Maharaja Prithviraj Chauhan should not be limited to a specific region but should be commemorated collectively across all districts of Haryana. Drawing from the teachings of the Mahabharata and Lord Krishna, he stressed that people should perform their duties selflessly, without greed or selfish motives.

Paying tribute to Maharaja Prithviraj Chauhan, the minister described him as a symbol of unparalleled courage. He noted that history offers few examples of a king who, despite losing a battle and being held captive, managed to defeat his enemy through extraordinary courage and skill. Rana also appreciated the organizers, particularly the youth living abroad, for contributing to the successful organization of the event and for maintaining a strong connection to their roots and culture.
