PM RAHAT Scheme: Cashless Treatment for Road Accident Victims

In a landmark move for emergency healthcare, Prime Minister Modi approved the launch of the PM RAHAT scheme, which guarantees cashless medical treatment of up to Rs 1.5 lakh for road accident victims. This initiative is specifically designed to ensure immediate medical intervention during critical emergencies, thereby preventing potential loss of life caused by financial constraints or treatment delays. The scheme represents a crucial step toward creating a more responsive and compassionate healthcare safety net for all citizens.

Lakhpati Didis Target Doubled to 6 Crore

The government has achieved the remarkable milestone of creating 3 crore Lakhpati Didis more than a year ahead of the original March 2027 deadline. Building on this extraordinary success, Prime Minister Modi has now set an ambitious new target of 6 crore Lakhpati Didis by March 2029. This strategic expansion aims to further strengthen women-led self-help groups and significantly boost rural household incomes, effectively doubling both the scale and ambition of this transformative program that empowers women economically across rural India.

Agriculture Infrastructure Fund Expanded to Rs 2 Lakh Crore

In a major push to strengthen India's agricultural value chain, Prime Minister Modi approved doubling the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund from Rs 1 lakh crore to Rs 2 lakh crore. The substantially expanded fund is expected to support critical post-harvest management infrastructure, modern storage facilities, and various agriculture-related projects that will directly benefit farmers nationwide. This enhancement represents a significant investment in creating more resilient and efficient agricultural systems that can better serve India's farming community.

Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with Rs 10,000 Crore Corpus

To encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, particularly in deep tech, advanced manufacturing, and early-stage ventures, the Prime Minister cleared the Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with a corpus of Rs 10,000 crore. This initiative is strategically designed to support the next generation of Indian startups and strengthen the country's innovation ecosystem. The fund will provide crucial financial backing to emerging enterprises working on cutting-edge technologies and solutions that can drive India's economic growth and technological advancement.

Seva Teerth: A Modern Administrative Complex

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi unveiled the name Seva Teerth for the new complex that houses the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the National Security Council Secretariat, and the Cabinet Secretariat. The inauguration of Seva Teerth along with Kartavya Bhavan 1 and 2 marks a significant transformation in India's administrative infrastructure, bringing these key offices under one unified roof for enhanced coordination and efficiency.

Kartavya Bhavan 1 and 2 will house several important ministries, including:

  • Finance
  • Defence
  • Health and Family Welfare
  • Corporate Affairs
  • Education
  • Culture
  • Law and Justice
  • Information and Broadcasting
  • Agriculture and Farmers Welfare
  • Chemicals and Fertilizers
  • Tribal Affairs

The government emphasized that the new complexes are designed to create a modern, efficient, and citizen-centric governance ecosystem. Built in alignment with 4-Star GRIHA standards, they incorporate renewable energy systems, advanced water conservation measures, and smart security infrastructure that reflects contemporary environmental and technological priorities.

The naming of Seva Teerth continues a broader effort initiated since 2014 to move away from colonial-era nomenclature. Previous changes include Rajpath being renamed Kartavya Path and Race Course Road becoming Lok Kalyan Marg, symbolizing a shift toward more meaningful and culturally resonant administrative terminology that better reflects India's democratic values and aspirations.
