BJP MP Sambit Patra Launches Sharp Attack on Mamata Banerjee's Bengal Governance
BJP spokesperson and Member of Parliament Sambit Patra has launched a strong verbal assault against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He raised multiple concerns about the state's current political and administrative climate. Patra's criticism focuses on three main areas: the Special Intensive Revision process, the Election Commission's functioning, and alleged illegal immigration.
Allegations of Appeasement and Identity Erosion
Patra expressed deep concern about what he described as the undermining of Bengal's traditional identity. He stated that West Bengal, historically known as a land of sacrifice and spiritual richness, is now suffering under what he called appeasement-driven governance. The BJP leader argued that this approach prioritizes political gains over the state's cultural heritage and social harmony.
Election Process Under Threat?
The BJP parliamentarian made serious allegations about attempts to disrupt the Special Intensive Revision exercise. He claimed that certain forces are trying to halt this constitutional process through unconstitutional methods and outright violence. Patra specifically mentioned an incident at the Block Development Office in Farakka, alleging the attack happened in the presence of a Trinamool Congress MLA.
He further asserted that election officials in Bengal are facing unprecedented pressure and intimidation. According to Patra, these officials are being placed under extreme duress, compromising their ability to conduct free and fair electoral exercises. This situation, he warned, poses a direct threat to democratic principles in the state.
National Security Concerns Raised
Patra's most explosive accusation centered on illegal immigration. He directly accused the West Bengal government of protecting Rohingya refugees and illegal Bangladeshi migrants. The BJP MP framed this not merely as a state issue but as a matter of national importance.
He emphasized that the presence of such elements threatens law and order within Bengal and compromises India's national security. Patra insisted that the state administration's alleged protection of these groups represents a failure to uphold constitutional responsibilities.
The BJP leader concluded by stating that the current situation in West Bengal transcends ordinary political disagreements. He positioned it as a fundamental struggle to preserve democracy, maintain legal order, and safeguard national security interests in this crucial eastern state.
