Nashik Republic Day Parade to Showcase Army Weapons

As part of the Republic Day festivities, the city of Nashik is set to host an impressive exhibition of Indian Army weaponry at the Police Parade ground on Monday. This significant event will showcase a diverse array of military equipment, ranging from advanced guns and sophisticated rocket systems to cutting-edge radar equipment and modern drones.

Official Ceremony and Parade Participants

State Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan will have the honor of unfurling the National Flag during the ceremony, which is scheduled to commence at 8:50 AM. The parade will witness participation from multiple security and defense forces, including the local police, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, sub-inspector cadets from the Maharashtra Police Academy (MPA), dedicated forest guards, committed civil defence volunteers, and a distinguished cavalry squad from the Bhonsala Military School.

Comprehensive Military Equipment Display

The military exhibition promises to be particularly noteworthy, featuring an extensive collection of artillery and rocket systems. Among the equipment on display will be the 105/37mm Indian Field Gun E-1, the 105/37mm Light Field Gun E-2, the 120mm Mortar AM-50, and the 155/45 Field Gun E-1 Soltam. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to view the 155mm 77 B 02 (Bofors), the 155/39mm M777 A2 Ultra Light Howitzer, and the 155/45mm Dhanush.

The showcase will also include powerful rocket systems such as the 122mm Grad BM-21 multi-barrel rocket launcher and the formidable 214mm Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher, along with various other military equipment that demonstrates the technological capabilities of the Indian armed forces.

Public Participation and Security Demonstrations

Nashik District Collector Ayush Prasad has made a heartfelt appeal to citizens, encouraging them to participate in the ceremony in substantial numbers. In a significant announcement, Prasad confirmed that entry to the Republic Day ceremony at the Police Parade ground will be completely free for all attendees, with the armed forces equipment remaining on display throughout the entire day.

In preparation for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela, the commandos of the Nashik city police will conduct a specialized anti-terror exercise demonstration as part of the event. This display aims to showcase their preparedness and operational capabilities in maintaining public safety during major gatherings.

Preparation and Official Oversight

Prior to the Republic Day function, a comprehensive review of preparations was conducted by key administrative officials. District Collector Ayush Prasad, along with Resident Deputy Collector Rohitkumar Rajput, Deputy Commissioner of Police Kirankumar Chavan, and other senior officers from both the city police and district administration, personally visited the Police Parade ground to assess and oversee the final arrangements for this significant national celebration.
