Keshav Prasad Maurya Slams Congress Over Fuel Crisis Fear-Mongering Amid West Asia Conflict
Maurya Accuses Congress of Fuel Panic, Touts India's Global Power Status

Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya Condemns Congress for Fuel Fear-Mongering

In a sharp rebuke, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Friday accused the Congress party of deliberately "spreading fear" regarding a potential fuel crisis amid the ongoing West Asia conflict. Maurya firmly asserted that there is no shortage of fuel or LPG in India, countering what he described as alarmist rhetoric from opposition leaders.

Congress Leaders Allegedly Creating Unnecessary Panic

Maurya specifically targeted Congress figures Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, claiming they are "creating unnecessary panic" despite clear assurances from Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri that fuel supplies remain normal and uninterrupted. "This fear-mongering is baseless and irresponsible," Maurya stated during a review meeting with BJP workers in Jhansi.

India's Strategic Stability Under Modi's Leadership

The deputy chief minister highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foreign policy as a key factor in India's resilience. "Due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's astute foreign policy, while ships from several countries were stuck in the Strait of Hormuz, Indian vessels continued moving without any disruption," he explained. Maurya emphasized that India is rapidly emerging as "a global power" under this leadership, with energy security being a top priority.

Post-Meeting Engagements and Focus on Women's Empowerment

After the Jhansi meeting, Maurya traveled to Lalitpur, where he participated in multiple public events, including the Saras Mela. He praised the local administration for organizing a "well-organised" fair and issued directives to officials to procure necessary items from women self-help groups (SHGs) to boost their economic prospects. "All SHG members will become 'Lakhpati Didis' and 'Crorepati Didis', and many will eventually achieve the status of 'Arabpati Didis'," Maurya proclaimed, underscoring the BJP's commitment to women's empowerment.

BJP's Electoral Confidence and Political Criticisms

Expressing strong electoral optimism, Maurya claimed the BJP is poised to form governments in Uttar Pradesh and Assam for a third consecutive term and is confident about winning West Bengal. In Kerala, he predicted the party would "perform in an outstanding manner." Responding to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav's remarks about PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) posing a challenge in 2027, Maurya accused the SP of engaging in "Muslim vote polarisation" and neglecting marginalized communities during its rule.

"Their PDA is actually the 'power of Dimple and Akhilesh'," Maurya quipped, adding that the SP would be in an even weaker position in 2027 compared to 2017, when it secured 47 seats. He alleged that the party has historically ignored the welfare of backward classes and Dalits.

Instructions to BJP Workers for Effective Governance

During the Jhansi meeting, Maurya issued clear instructions to BJP workers, urging them to ensure that all state government welfare schemes reach their intended beneficiaries without delay. He stressed the importance of continuous monitoring to maintain transparency and efficiency in implementation. "Our workers must act as vigilant custodians of public welfare, ensuring no one is left behind," he emphasized, reinforcing the party's grassroots focus.
