A serious road accident occurred in Jaipur's Harmada area on Sunday afternoon when a speeding car collided with a motorcycle carrying a married couple, throwing them nearly 20 feet away and leaving both critically injured with multiple fractures. The incident took place near Loha Mandi under Harmada Police Station limits around 3 pm on Sunday. CCTV footage of the crash surfaced on Monday, showing the moment of impact and the couple being flung through the air.
Details of the Accident
According to police officials, the couple was crossing the road on their motorcycle when an overspeeding car rammed into them with tremendous force. The CCTV footage reveals that the man driving the motorcycle did not check for oncoming traffic before entering the road. The impact threw both riders onto the asphalt, causing severe injuries. Locals quickly gathered to assist and alerted the authorities.
Identification of Victims
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Harmada police station, Uday Yadav, identified the injured as Pushpendra Singh and his wife Vandana Kanwar, residents of Tirupati Vihar. Both were rushed to a private hospital on Sikar Road. Medical reports confirm that they have sustained multiple fractures and are currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU). Their condition is stated to be critical but stable.
Driver Flees the Scene
Following the collision, the driver of the car abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot. Police have registered a case and seized the car. A search operation is underway to trace the absconding driver. An officer stated, "We have registered a case and seized the car. We have also launched a search to trace the driver, who is on the run." An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
