Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini Showcases State's Progress and Defends Policies
In a significant briefing held in Chandigarh, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini presented a comprehensive overview of the state's achievements, focusing on budget implementations and election promises. Accompanied by Chief Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar and his CMO team, Saini emphasized the government's commitment to transparency and development.
Defending Recruitment Policies and Political Outreach
Saini addressed concerns regarding the recruitment of non-Haryana domiciled candidates by the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) and Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC). He justified the selections by citing examples of Haryana candidates succeeding in other states' recruitment drives. "There is no such issue," he asserted, highlighting the reciprocal nature of such opportunities.
He also commented on political dynamics in neighboring Punjab, accusing the state government of targeting BJP event organizers. "I shall continue to visit there, as people want Modi ji there," Saini stated, signaling the BJP's intent to expand its influence in Punjab.
Tracking Election Promises and Budget Announcements
The Chief Minister provided detailed figures on the fulfillment of commitments made ahead of the 2024 Assembly elections. Out of 217 promises, the government has completed 60, with work ongoing on 120 announcements. Immediate actions included issuing joining letters to 25,573 candidates and introducing free dialysis services in hospitals.
Regarding budget-related achievements for 2025-26, Saini reported that 77 out of 248 announcements have been completed. He highlighted key economic indicators, noting a 12.67 percent increase in state GDP compared to 2024-25. Haryana's per capita income ranks among the top five states in India, having grown approximately 2.5 times over the past decade.
Criticizing Opposition and Highlighting Fiscal Gains
Saini launched a sharp critique of the Congress and AAP-led governments, accusing them of misinformation. "Congress and its leaders are simply propagating their Jhooth Ki Dukaan," he said, comparing economic expenditures. He claimed that actual spending under his administration is about three times higher than during the opposition's tenure from 2004 to 2014.
He also pointed to contradictions within the AAP-led Punjab government, suggesting instability. "People of Punjab are looking at BJP as well as Modi ji as the only alternative for progress, prosperity and growth," Saini affirmed, outlining ambitions for expansion into Punjab and West Bengal.
Economic and Industrial Advancements
On fiscal matters, Saini noted that Haryana's share in central taxes rose to 1.361 percent under the 16th Finance Commission, a 24.52 percent increase from the previous commission. State revenue saw an approximate rise of 52,376 crore rupees in 2024-25.
To foster industrial harmony, the government formed the Industry Labour Friendship Council. Additionally, over 20 lakh MSME registrations were recorded on the Udyam and Udyam Registration Portal between 2015 and 2025. Haryana's total exports from April 2024 to March 2025 reached 19.10 billion US dollars, underscoring the state's economic vitality.
