MAGA Millionaire Don Huffines Identified as Buyer of Jeffrey Epstein's Notorious New Mexico Ranch

The long-standing mystery surrounding the ownership of one of Jeffrey Epstein's most infamous properties has been solved. The buyer of the disgraced financier's sprawling New Mexico ranch is none other than Texas Republican and MAGA-aligned millionaire Don Huffines, who is currently campaigning to become the state's Comptroller.

Purchase Through LLC and Family Involvement

According to reports from the Santa Fe New Mexican, Huffines acquired the property known as "Zorro Ranch" in 2023. The real estate mogul utilized a limited liability company that he established merely weeks before the transaction was finalized. Public records indicate that his wife is listed as a trustee of this entity, while his son serves as the LLC manager, as confirmed by The Center Square.

Huffines' campaign spokesperson, Allen Blakemore, issued a statement clarifying the acquisition. "Four years after Mr. Epstein’s death, the Huffines family purchased property in New Mexico listed at public auction whose proceeds benefited his victims. Prior to the auction listing, they had never visited the property," Blakemore stated.

The Ranch's Dark History and Disturbing Allegations

The 7,600-acre ranch, located in Southern Santa Fe County, was a central hub in Epstein's alleged criminal activities. The New York Times previously reported that Epstein envisioned using the property as part of a bizarre plan to "seed the human race with his DNA by impregnating women." The ranch is mentioned a staggering 4,200 times within the more than three million documents released as part of the Epstein Files.

Even more chilling are recent revelations from the Department of Justice's database of Epstein files. An email suggests that the bodies of at least "two foreign girls," both victims of strangulation, are buried on the property. Huffines has since renamed the estate "Rancho de San Rafael."

Calls for Investigation and Political Scrutiny

These grave allegations have prompted a New Mexico official to demand an investigation into the property. Wayne Hamilton, former executive director of the Republican Party of Texas, voiced strong criticism to The Center Square. "If you are buying a piece of land, the first thing that should be done is total transparency. If the property is suspected of criminal activity, why not be transparent with state officials in New Mexico? Huffines wants to run the finances of Texas, yet he won’t be transparent with his own dealings with former Epstein assets," Hamilton asserted.

The purchase has also drawn public skepticism. Journalist Molly Jong-Fast questioned the decision in a social media post, stating, "What an odd piece of property to purchase."

Who is Don Huffines?

Don Huffines, 67, is a prominent Republican figure and a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, as highlighted on his campaign website. A former GOP state senator representing Dallas County's District 16, he is now vying for the position of Texas Comptroller, a statewide office responsible for overseeing the state's financial operations.

His political connections extend to his family. His son, Russell Huffines, was appointed by the Trump administration in June 2025 as associate director of agency outreach, a position he currently holds with an annual salary of $83,500, according to RealClear Investigations.

Huffines previously mounted an unsuccessful challenge against Governor Greg Abbott in 2022. He now faces competition in the March 3 Republican primary from Acting Comptroller Kelly Hancock—a former state senator appointed by Abbott—as well as Michael Berlanga and Railroad Commissioner Christi Craddick.

Business Background and Campaign Promises

On the professional front, Huffines co-owns and operates Huffines Communities, a real estate land development company based in North Texas. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, holding a degree in Finance. His campaign, as mentioned on LinkedIn, pledges to implement fiscal responsibility for Texas by "cutting government waste and increasing efficiency."

Personally, Huffines and his wife, Mary Catherine, are parents to four sons and one daughter, and he is also a grandfather, according to his social media profiles.

Broader Implications and Unanswered Questions

The revelation that Huffines owns a property so intimately linked to Jeffrey Epstein's criminal empire raises significant questions. Epstein was found dead in his New York jail cell in 2019, but the ongoing release of documents by the DOJ continues to expose the vast network of the convicted sex offender, which included elected officials, tech billionaires, and Hollywood celebrities.

This development adds a complex layer to Huffines' political campaign, intertwining his financial dealings with one of the most notorious criminal cases of recent decades. The calls for transparency and investigation ensure that this issue will remain under intense public and political scrutiny as the Texas Comptroller race progresses.
