BJP's Arun Singh: Budget to Build Viksit Bharat Foundation

Ranchi: BJP's national general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Arun Singh emphasized on Monday that the upcoming union budget for 2026-27 will establish a robust foundation for achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat. "This budget will provide wings to the aspirations of our youth, reinforce the confidence of farmers, empower women with self-reliance, and strengthen both the middle and poorer sections of society," he declared.

Addressing Middle Class Concerns

Countering critics who argue that the budget offers minimal relief for the middle class, Singh highlighted several key measures. "This budget delivers significant relief to the middle class," he stated. Key initiatives include:

  • Availability of quality treatment through biopharmaceutical centers at the district level.
  • Abolition of the TDS application process.
  • Reduction or elimination of customs duties on 17 life-saving medicines.
  • Making education abroad more affordable for children.

He added, "Today's India is committed to reform, performance, and transformation, moving beyond outdated criticisms."

Focus on MSMEs and Agriculture

Singh noted that the budget also prioritizes micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and job creation. For the farming community, the government plans to integrate agriculture using the Bharat Vistar AI tool. Additionally, a central capital subsidy scheme has been announced to promote fish farming in Amrit Sarovars, aiming to boost rural livelihoods and food security.

Criticism of Jharkhand Government

Turning his attention to the ruling alliance in Jharkhand, Singh pointed out the substantial central allocations to the state. "Jharkhand is set to receive Rs 51,236 crore from taxes and Rs 17,057 crore as grants-in-aid, with an extra Rs 11,567 crore for special assistance grants," he revealed.

He further alleged, "Over the past 11 years, central funding for Jharkhand has increased sixteenfold. However, despite this continuous rise in allocation, the state government has failed to utilize these resources effectively and remains entangled in various scams." This criticism underscores ongoing political tensions and calls for better governance in the region.

Arun Singh's remarks highlight the BJP's confidence in the budget's potential to drive national development while holding state administrations accountable for their implementation efforts.
