Guwahati: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam is set to introduce a new system under which one minister will be available at the party's state headquarters every week to meet the public and address their grievances, state BJP president Dilip Saikia announced on Monday.

Initiative to Bridge Gap Between People and Government

Saikia stated, "The initiative is aimed at assisting the people to reach the government and bringing them closer to the government." He further explained that besides the ministers, both political secretaries to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will also be present on behalf of the CM. Individuals who are unable to meet the Chief Minister directly due to various reasons can submit their issues, grievances, or applications to these political secretaries.

Political Secretaries Express Commitment

Krishna Kamal Tanti said, "As a political secretary to the CM, I have come to the office and met the state president and discussed the things. The arrangement has been made so that the people, who cannot meet the CM directly for various reasons, can meet us in the party office with their issues or grievances. We will put efforts to work accordingly." He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for entrusting him with such responsibility, especially as a second-time MLA representing the tea tribe community. "I thank the CM for giving importance to the upliftment of the tea tribe community," Tanti added.

Taranga Gogoi remarked, "Many times, certain things remain away from the Chief Minister's notice. It is the duty of the political secretaries to bring those things to the notice of the CM. I am thankful for entrusting myself with such responsibility. This initiative by the party to meet the people at the party's state headquarters is a welcoming move and will definitely serve the purpose."
