A 25-year-old youth was brutally murdered by a group of assailants at Ganjam in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district on Monday. The victim, identified as Mohammed Shoaib alias Suheb, was a car dealer and a native of Mysuru.
Details of the Incident
According to police sources, the incident occurred when Shoaib was travelling on a motorcycle with his brother-in-law. A gang of four to five unidentified assailants allegedly followed them. Sensing danger, Shoaib reportedly got out of the vehicle and tried to escape by running towards a nearby building, where he took shelter inside a room. However, the attackers chased him, forced their way into the premises, and hacked him to death near the entrance using long machetes.
Swift and Brutal Assault
The assault was swift and brutal, leaving the victim with fatal injuries on the spot. After the attack, the assailants fled, abandoning the weapons at the scene. Police said video footage of the incident has surfaced, which is expected to aid the investigation.
Investigation Underway
Senior officials, including Superintendent of Police VJ Shobharani, visited the spot and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered at Srirangapatna Town police station. The police are analyzing the footage and conducting raids to apprehend the suspects.
