Jaipur Woman and Minor Son Apprehended in Grisly Husband Murder Case
In a shocking incident from Jaipur, police on Friday arrested a 35-year-old woman for the alleged murder of her husband, with the assistance of her minor son. The accused, identified as Mausmi, is accused of killing her spouse, Sheikh Sahan, a native of Malda in West Bengal, on Thursday. The couple's 15-year-old son, classified as a juvenile in conflict with law, has also been detained in connection with the case.
Discovery of the Body and Initial Investigation
Deputy Police Commissioner (West) Prashant Kiran stated that authorities received information from the control room about a body lying near Shivnagar Bypass on Nivaru Road. Upon arrival, a police team discovered the victim's body stuffed in a sack, with the lower portion inside and the upper body partially exposed. Disturbingly, the face and waist area had been burnt, indicating a deliberate attempt to conceal the victim's identity and destroy evidence.
Forensic teams, including dog squads, MOB, and FSL units, were promptly called to the scene to collect crucial evidence. Investigators meticulously analysed CCTV footage from the area, which revealed that the body was transported in a sack on a cycle rickshaw by a woman accompanied by a juvenile. This trail led police to Riddhi Siddhi Colony in Nangal Jaisa Bohra.
Breakthrough and Confession
Through local verification efforts, police identified the deceased and proceeded to his residence, where they questioned the accused woman. During interrogation, Mausmi reportedly confessed to the crime, citing frequent domestic disputes as the motive. According to police, she admitted to striking her husband's head with a hammer-like object and then strangling him with a rope.
The investigation further revealed that after the murder, Mausmi, along with her son, packed the body in a sack and dumped it at an isolated location during the night. In a bid to delay identification, she also admitted to burning the face and waist area using petrol, a move that police described as an effort to obscure evidence and hinder the investigation.

Police have emphasized that efforts were made to destroy evidence and delay identification, highlighting the premeditated nature of the crime. The case remains under active investigation, with authorities working to gather all necessary forensic and testimonial evidence to build a strong case against the accused.
