Hardoi Official Found Unconscious Near Tracks After Harassment Complaint
Woman Official Found Injured After Filing Harassment FIR

A shocking case of alleged sexual harassment and a subsequent violent attack has emerged from Uttar Pradesh, where a woman government official was discovered unconscious and severely injured near railway tracks in Lucknow. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, is being investigated as a possible pre-planned murder attempt linked to her formal complaints against a senior colleague.

Months of Harassment and Official Complaints

The survivor, who works with a government department in Hardoi district, had been facing continuous sexual and mental harassment from a senior staff member since her appointment in September 2025, according to her family. After their pleas for intervention went unheard, the family escalated the matter by submitting formal written complaints to the District Magistrate, Chief Development Officer, and the Principal Secretary between December 9 and 12, 2025.

Following these complaints, an FIR was officially registered at the Kotwali City police station on December 19. The case seemed to be moving through official channels, but the situation took a dangerous turn at the start of the new year.

The Disappearance and Discovery

On January 1, the woman left her home carrying a bag containing crucial documents and evidence related to her harassment case. She was scheduled to give a statement before the investigating officer that day. Her last known location was the Alamnagar railway station at around 7:30 am, where she was reportedly dropped off.

When she stopped responding to repeated phone calls, her worried family members used mobile phone tracking technology. The signal led them to the Rehman Kheda forest area. There, at approximately 3 pm, they made a grim discovery: the woman was lying unconscious and critically injured near the railway tracks. Her bag, which held the important case documents and a second mobile phone, was missing from the scene.

Police Investigation and Family's Allegations

The family has directly linked the attack to her pursuit of justice, claiming it was orchestrated to silence her after she filed the FIR. In his statement, the woman's brother expressed grave concerns for the family's safety and demanded the immediate arrest of the accused senior official.

Police authorities have confirmed that an investigation is underway. DCP West Zone, Vishwajeet Srivastava, stated that the accused officer has been detained and is being questioned. Meanwhile, SP Hardoi, Ashok Meena, confirmed that a probe is ongoing in connection with the sexual harassment FIR filed by the woman in Hardoi. The case highlights the severe risks faced by those reporting harassment within the system.
