Woman and Lover Arrested for Alleged Murder Plot Against Sikh Preacher Husband in Pilibhit

A shocking case of alleged conspiracy to murder has emerged in Pilibhit district, where a 38-year-old woman has been arrested for plotting to kill her husband, a Sikh preacher, in collusion with her lover and his aide. The husband, Harvinder Singh, is currently fighting for his life at a private hospital in Bareilly after a brutal attack.

Details of the Attack and Investigation

According to police officials, the incident occurred on the evening of March 1 near a culvert in Nadha village. Harvinder Singh, 44, who serves as a granthi at a gurdwara in Rampura Kon village under the Puranpur Kotwali police station, was returning to the shrine from Karher Chauhra around 7 pm when he was assaulted with a pointed road driller. The attack left him with critical injuries to his head and face.

Despite his severe condition, Harvinder managed to crawl into nearby harvested fields and hide. He was later discovered by local villagers, who immediately rushed him to a medical facility for urgent treatment. His survival in such a state has been described as remarkable by authorities.

Wife's Complaint and Police Uncover Conspiracy

In a twist to the case, Gurjeet Kaur, the victim's wife, lodged a written complaint with the police on March 2, a day after the attack, against unidentified assailants. She stated in her complaint that her husband is a resident of Kajra village under Khutar police station in Shahjahanpur district and has been serving at the gurdwara in Rampura Kon for the past three years. Based on her report, a case was registered under BNS section 109(1) for attempt to murder.

However, during the investigation, police uncovered a more sinister plot. Superintendent of Police Sukirti Madhav revealed that the conspiracy to kill Harvinder Singh was allegedly hatched by his wife, Gurjeet Kaur, in collusion with her lover, Kuldeep Singh, 45, a resident of Rampura Kon village. The attack was allegedly carried out by Kuldeep with the assistance of his servant, Rakesh Singh. All three accused have reportedly confessed to their roles in the crime.

Motivation Behind the Alleged Plot

Police investigations indicate that Kuldeep Singh used to frequently visit Harvinder's house and allegedly developed an affair with Gurjeet Kaur approximately six months ago. When Harvinder became aware of their relationship and objected to it, the two allegedly decided to eliminate him to continue their affair without interference.

As part of their plan, Gurjeet sent her husband to Karher Chauhra on the evening of March 1 under the pretext of fetching some material. She then informed Kuldeep about Harvinder's route and timing. Acting on this information, Kuldeep and his servant allegedly waited near the Nadha culvert and attacked Harvinder before fleeing the scene, believing he had died from the assault.

Arrests and Legal Proceedings

The trio was arrested on Saturday and subsequently sent to jail, as confirmed by SP Sukirti Madhav. The police have emphasized the thoroughness of their investigation in uncovering the conspiracy, which initially appeared as a random attack by unknown persons.

This case highlights the complexities of domestic disputes escalating into violent crimes. The community in Pilibhit district has been left stunned by the allegations, given Harvinder Singh's role as a respected Sikh preacher. Authorities continue to monitor the situation as the victim remains in critical condition, and legal proceedings against the accused are underway.
