Police Investigation

Kateya Station House Officer Awadhesh Kumar said a case has been registered based on a complaint lodged by the victim's family. "The husband is on the run and efforts are on to trace him. The detained father-in-law is being questioned," he said.

Family members said Nazia had married Shahalu, a resident of Amhi Banke village, seven years ago. The couple has two children — a son and a daughter. While the initial years of marriage were peaceful, her husband had allegedly been harassing her over various issues in recent years.

Allegations of Premeditated Murder

Relatives alleged that a dispute escalated on Saturday night, following which Nazia was attacked with a sharp weapon. She died on the spot due to multiple injuries. The victim's family, who reached the village after being informed, alleged that it was a premeditated murder and accused the in-laws of sustained harassment.

Police said the investigation is underway and raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding husband.
