Vizianagaram Police Crack Major Burglary Case, Arrest Two Notorious Criminals
In a significant breakthrough, the Vizianagaram district police have successfully apprehended two individuals involved in a high-value house burglary that occurred in Boddam village, located within the Vepada mandal under the jurisdiction of the Vallampudi police station. The swift police action led to the recovery of stolen property valued at approximately Rs 80 lakh, including substantial quantities of gold and silver ornaments.
Details of the Arrest and Recovery
The arrested suspects have been identified as Pilla Nookaraju, aged 35, a resident of Laxmipuram in Chodavaram mandal, Anakapalle district, and P Upendra, aged 26, from Jampena village under V Madugula mandal, also in Anakapalle district. According to Vizianagaram district police chief AR Damodhar, both individuals have extensive criminal records. Nookaraju has been implicated in 23 property offences, while Upendra was involved in five murder-for-gain cases. Notably, both had been recently released from prison prior to this incident.
The burglary took place on February 1, when the accused targeted the locked residence of J Venkata Ramana in Boddam village. They made off with a substantial haul, including:
- Approximately 420 grams of gold ornaments
- Around 330 grams of silver ornaments
- Three mobile phones
Additionally, the police seized the motorcycle used by the perpetrators to commit the crime, which was instrumental in their arrest.

The Vizianagaram police managed to solve this major burglary case through diligent investigative efforts, leading to the recovery of all stolen items. The total value of the recovered property is estimated at Rs 80 lakh, highlighting the severity of the crime.
