Vizag Navy Man's Gruesome Murder: New Confession Reveals Chilling Details
A fresh and disturbing development has emerged in the horrific murder case of Polipalli Mounika, a 30-year-old woman in Visakhapatnam. The Gajuwaka police in Vizag city have uncovered shocking new facts during their investigation, shedding light on the gruesome events that transpired on March 29.
Initial Confession and Contradictions
The accused, Chintada Ravindra, a 30-year-old married man working with the Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam, was allegedly in a relationship with Mounika. He initially confessed to murdering and dismembering her body inside his rented flat in the LV Nagar area of the city. However, this account was contradicted by CCTV footage, which showed no record of Mounika entering Ravindra's flat on the day of the murder.
Revised Confession: Murder at Friend's House
Under police interrogation, Ravindra provided a revised and more chilling confession. He admitted that he actually killed Mounika at his friend's house, located a short distance from his rented flat. On the morning of March 29, after his friend and two others left for duty, Ravindra took the keys to their house. He then picked up Mounika from the Marripalem locality on his bike and took her to this friend's house.
According to Ravindra, an argument ensued between them over some issue, during which he smothered Mounika to death. He then went to his own flat, retrieved a large trolley bag, returned to the friend's house, placed the body inside the bag, and transported it back to his flat.
Gruesome Dismemberment and Disposal
The horror did not end there. Ravindra later procured a knife, a floor wiper, dustbin liners, and some room sprays through an online delivery platform. Using these items, he cut the body into three parts. He kept the torso in the refrigerator, packed the legs and hip portion in the trolley bag and hid it under the bed. In a further attempt to conceal the crime, he took the head and limbs to a secluded place at Darapalem and burned them with petrol.
Legal Proceedings and Police Action
Upon the end of his police custody, Ravindra was produced before the court and sent to the central prison. The police have indicated that they may seek further custody of the accused if required, as the investigation continues to uncover more details. This case has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the brutal nature of the crime and the meticulous, yet horrifying, steps taken by the accused to cover it up.
The Gajuwaka police are diligently working to piece together all evidence, including the CCTV discrepancies and the procurement of materials via online platforms, to ensure justice is served for Polipalli Mounika.
