In a tragic incident in Vadodara, a food delivery worker lost his life in a road accident during the early hours of Saturday. The accident occurred on Sun Pharma Road, where a 27-year-old man was run over by an SUV allegedly driven in a reckless manner by a 19-year-old woman.

Details of the Fatal Collision

The accident took place around 1:30 AM near the Bhim Talav junction on Sun Pharma Road. Abhishek More, the victim, was passing through the area on his motorcycle when a speeding Mahindra Thar SUV struck him. The impact was severe, resulting in More's immediate death at the scene. It is believed he succumbed to a severe head injury from the collision.

A police patrol quickly arrived at the site. The driver, identified as Rishika Sadanani, 19, a resident of the Racecourse area in Vadodara, and the two young women accompanying her were taken to the Atladara police station for questioning.

Police Investigation and Legal Action

Abhishek More's father, Vasudev More, registered an official complaint against Sadanani at the Atladara police station. He alleged that the car was being driven at high speed and with negligence, leading to the fatal accident.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Manjita Vanzara addressed the media, confirming that Sadanani was the driver. She stated that blood samples from all three women in the car have been collected to determine if they were intoxicated at the time of the incident.

CCTV footage of the accident has emerged and is being analyzed. Vanzara emphasized that this evidence, along with other findings, will be used by experts to calculate the speed of the car at the moment of impact.

Background and Aftermath

Sources revealed that the deceased, Abhishek More, worked for a courier company and also took food delivery orders through an aggregator platform, highlighting the risks faced by gig economy workers.

According to police, Sadanani and the other two women had attended a wedding at a resort in Dumad on the highway. They were traveling to Sun Pharma Road to drop off one of the women who lived there when the accident occurred.

The situation grew tense when the accused was taken to the accident site for investigation. Family members of the deceased arrived and expressed their anger towards the accused and the police, underscoring the emotional toll of the tragedy.
