In response to two high-profile murders in the posh localities of Dehradun within a span of just three days, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken serious note and initiated a sweeping reshuffle of senior police officers across various districts. The move underscores the government's heightened focus on law and order and its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy towards crime.

Key Transfers in Police Leadership

The reshuffle includes significant changes at the top levels of the police force. SSP Dehradun Ajai Singh has been reassigned and is now given charge of SSP STF (Special Task Force). In his place, Haridwar SSP Parmendra Dobhal has been shifted to Dehradun in the same capacity. Navneet Singh has been named as the new SSP Haridwar, while SSP Udham Singh Nagar Manikant Mishra has been replaced by Ajay Ganpati.

Additionally, police chiefs in several other districts have been changed, including:

Specific appointments include SP Rudraprayag Akshay Prahlad being made SP Pithoragarh, and SP Niharika Tomar taking over as the new SP Rudraprayag. Chandrasekhar Ghodke, who previously held charge of SP Bageshwar, has been named as SSP Almora, with Jitendra Kumar Mehra given charge of SP Bageshwar. SP Pithoragarh Rekha Yadav is now the new SP of Champawat district.
