Dispute Over Relationship Escalates into Violence
According to police reports, the conflict originated from a relationship between a 21-year-old woman and her neighbor. Tensions between the two families escalated when the woman visited her lover's house around 12:30 PM on Saturday. This move sparked immediate friction, leading to a heated argument when the woman's family members arrived at the youth's residence.
The verbal altercation quickly turned physical, with both sides engaging in abuse and assault. In a tragic turn of events, the woman's brother allegedly struck the youth's 50-year-old father on the head with an axe. The victim sustained critical injuries and succumbed to them at the scene, marking a fatal outcome to the dispute.
Police Response and Medical Attention
Following the attack, three other members of the youth's family were found injured and were transported to the district hospital. The Bihar police, upon arriving at the location, coordinated their transfer to the Community Health Centre in Beeghapur via ambulance, where they continue to receive medical treatment for their wounds.
Bihar Station House Officer (SHO) Rahul Singh provided insights into the incident, noting that both families belong to the Lodh community. The SHO emphasized that the dispute intensified due to opposition to the couple's relationship, highlighting the underlying social tensions that fueled the violence.
