How the Incident Unfolded

The alleged crime took place in a village under the Nandgaon taluka of Nashik. According to Inspector Digambar Bhadane, the two accused were walking past the village when they grabbed the hand of the 14-year-old girl as she was walking home. A friend of the victim, who was passing by, noticed the act and immediately raised an alarm. This prompt action allowed the girl to quickly escape from the men's clutches.

The commotion drew the attention of nearby villagers. Enraged by the act, the local community surrounded and caught the two men, holding them until police could arrive. The police were alerted and promptly took the duo into custody.

Background of the Accused and Legal Action

Police investigations revealed that both accused were not local residents. They hailed from Jalna and Amalner and were part of families that had come to Manmad. They were moving around the area, asking for 'bhiksha' (alms and food) from people while claiming to be ascetics.

Following their arrest, both were presented before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
